Avon Club

The Avon Club is a women's organization for residents who live or work within the Avonworth School District (Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights, Emsworth, Kilbuck and Ohio Township).  Its purpose is to promote civic participation for community betterment and provide a common social interest.

The organization holds a number of activities designed to raise funds for location nonprofits and community groups.  Some of these activities include:

  • Fall Festival:  A street fair in downtown Ben Avon that features crafters, food, music and fun.  It is usually held in late September or early October on a Saturday.

  • House Tour:  Avon Club has hosted a number of house tours that feature leading homes in Ben Avon.  Last year's tour was during the Christmas season.

  • Avon Eaters:  Approximately four times a year, members of Avon Club and their spouses meet at local homes for an elaborate dinner and libations.

  • Avonworth Scholarship:  Each year, the Club presents a deserving young woman a college scholarship.

The Club currently has over 40 members who meet the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Borough Hall.  Women must be 18 years of age or older to join.
